With eye upraised
his master's look to scan,
The joy, the solace, and
the aid of man:
The rich man's guardian
and the poor man's friend,
The only creature
faithful to the end.
~George Crabbe~

"They are your friend,
your partner,
your defender
your dog.
You are their life,
their love,
their leader.
They will be yours,
faithful and true,
to the last beat
of their heart.
You owe it to them
to be worthy
of such devotion."

for the triumph of evil
is that good men
do nothing."
-Edmund Burke-
"Until one has loved
an animal,
a part of one's soul
remains unawakened."

Thank you Don Lindsey and the Vienna Police Dept. for hosting the 13th annual (2008) WVPCA seminar in Parkersburg, WV, April 21-25. The accommodations and training grounds were wonderful, the event was well organized and well attended. We thank the instructors and helpers who facilitated the certification of many fine police and other working K-9 teams. It is always a thrill to watch the many different dogs work. The weather was great, much was learned and we had great fun with a lot of old and new friends. Keep training--next year is just around the corner!

"The one absolutely
unselfish friend
that man can have
in this selfish world,
the one that
never deserts him,
the one that
never proves
ungrateful
or treacherous,
is his dog."

"Eulogy on the dog"
